.Sh DESCRIPTION
The

utility is a utility that allows you to replace substrings within files with the
contents of other files.
The special
.Sq -
filename can be used to refer to the standard input.
The pattern
.Ar pattern
is a perl\-compatible regular expression.
For all occurrences of
.Ar pattern
in
.Ar ,
the contents of
.Ar basefile
will be printed to the standard output instead.

If no files to act on are provided, the substitution is performed on the
standard input.
